SECRETS TO CLEAN BEDROOM YOU MAY NOT KNOW (PART II)
One of the most household cleaning materials is baking soda. Once you have treated the stain, you can clean and deodorize the entire mattress. To do this, sprinkle a large amount of baking soda over the entire surface of the mattress.
9. Give baking soda time to absorb odors
You should put the baking soda on the mattress for at least 30 minutes. This will give it time to break down acids, absorb odors. It also absorbs any leftover liquid from your spot cleaning.
10. Vacuum the mattress again
When baking soda has been on the mattress for a while, vacuum the mattress to remove baking soda. You will also absorb the acid, odor, and liquid that baking soda absorbed with it. Use the tip of the brush to suck the top of the mattress, and the long nozzle to squeeze into corners and cracks.
11. Keep the mattress out in the sun or fresh air
When cleaning the house, especially the bedroom, you should expose the pillowcase to the sun. The same goes for mattresses, exposing them to fresh and sunny air.
The moisture trapped inside the mattress can lead to mold, and this will be very difficult to remove. So let them dry for a while.
During the warmer season, open a window in the room to allow for fresh air and dry the mattress faster. You can also open the curtains and blinds to catch the sun. Because UV rays in the sun will help kill bacteria and mold on the mattress, eliminate more odors and dry faster.
